The Foundation’s 20 Educational Activity Centres provide essential support to approximately 695 children. Each child receives comprehensive educational materials, including notebooks, school uniforms, school bags, white shoes, sports attire, sweaters, raincoats, and hygiene kits. Beyond educational resources, children are benefited from daily nutritional supplements and consistent healthcare support.
These provisions have created a strong incentive for parents to send their children to the centres regularly, ensuring consistent attendance. Likewise, the availability of these resources has motivated children to engage actively in their education, fostering both enthusiasm for learning and improved overall well-being.
Munirathnamma’s story underscores the profound impact of community-based educational initiatives. Despite being daily wage laborers with no formal education, she and her husband are deeply committed to giving their children a better future. Their daughter, Preethi, is a Class 5 student at the local Government School and receives valuable support from the Educational Centre in Thirumagondanahalli Village.
The Educational Centre in Thirumagondanahalli Village has become a lifeline for Preethi, providing not only academic tutoring but also essential nutritional support that enhances her physical health and concentration. This holistic approach to education, addressing both cognitive and physical well-being, enables Preethi to excel in her studies despite the difficult circumstances at home.
Her testimony highlights how, even in challenging circumstances, community-driven programs can create opportunities for children to thrive. Through education, Munirathamma and her husband are determined to break the cycle of poverty and ensure a brighter future for their daughters.
Meena and Manjunath, casual laborers working on farms, face the challenge of supporting their three daughters with limited income, making it difficult to provide both education and nutritious food. However, they are grateful for the support their children receive at the Vaddarahalli Educational Centre.
The couple shared their appreciation for the Centre, which offers tutoring, school supplies, and nutritious snacks to their daughters. This assistance has made a significant difference in their lives, allowing the family to allocate a little more money toward groceries and ensure they can have two meals a day. Meena and Manjunath are thankful that all their 3 daughters can attend the Centre, which not only supports their education but also contributes to their overall well-being.
Arathi’s story is deeply moving. As the sole breadwinner in her family, she faces immense challenges. Her husband, who is differently-abled, cannot work, and their financial struggles led her to send their oldest daughter to a government hostel. Meanwhile, her two younger children, Jeevitha and Jeevan, attend the educational centre, where they receive both academic support and nutritious snacks.
Arathi expresses how the centre has been a blessing, easing her anxiety about her long working hours. She no longer has to worry about cooking for her children when she returns home late, and she is relieved to see her children happy, healthy, and thriving.

After her husband’s death, her in-laws forced her out of their home, and she sought shelter at her elder brother’s house. As a special case, she was enrolled in a tailoring course by Debora Foundation India. Upon completing the course, she gained the skills to stitch blouses and children’s dresses. Through Life Skills training, she also learned how to manage her emotions, realizing the importance of not taking her frustration out on others. Inspired by a session on “Entrepreneurship,” Lekhana now runs a small tailoring business with a machine provided by DFI, operating from her brother’s home.
